Terms of Use

What are these terms and do they apply to you?

In short: They are the rules for using this website. By using the site, you accept them.

These Terms of Use explain the rules for using the Overtis website. By using the site, you agree to these rules. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

The site is run by Owen Vromans, trading as Overtis (company number 1005.936.025), a one-person business in Belgium. You can reach us at hello@overtis.consulting.

These terms cover the use of the website itself. How we handle your personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy. The terms for paid work are in our Algemene Voorwaarden.

What can you do on this site?

In short: Browse, read, and use the contact form in a normal way.

You are welcome to browse the site, read the content, and use the contact form to get in touch in a normal way. That is what the site is for. You do not need an account, and using the site is free.

What can't you do on this site?

In short: No unlawful use, no bots or scraping, no hacking, no spam or abuse, and no impersonation.

To keep the site working and safe for everyone, you may not:

  • use the site for anything unlawful
  • use bots, scrapers or other automated tools to harvest content or data
  • try to disrupt, overload, hack or break into the site or its server
  • send spam, illegal or abusive content through the contact form
  • pretend to be someone else when you contact us

Who owns the content on this site?

In short: Overtis owns the text, design and branding. You need our permission to reuse them, but normal quoting is fine.

The text, design, logo and branding on this site belong to Overtis. You may not copy, republish, redistribute, scrape or reuse them without our permission.

This does not stop normal, lawful quotation (citaatrecht): you may quote a short part as long as you name the source. We do not claim ownership of names, logos or materials that belong to other people or companies. We ask you to respect our work; we do not promise that copying is technically blocked.

Is the information here professional advice?

In short: No. It is general information, provided "as is", and reading it creates no client relationship.

The information on this site is general information about Overtis and what it does. It is not professional advice, and reading it does not create a client relationship. If you want advice about your own situation, get in touch so we can discuss working together.

The site is provided "as is". We do our best to keep it accurate and online, but we cannot promise that it is always correct, complete or available.

What are we responsible for?

In short: We limit our liability as far as the law allows; your consumer rights always remain. Paid work is covered by the Algemene Voorwaarden.

We limit our liability as far as the law allows. We are not responsible for indirect or unexpected damage that follows from using the site.

Some things can never be limited, and we do not try to: damage caused on purpose or by gross negligence, personal injury, and the rights you have by law as a consumer always stay in place.

These terms cover the website itself. For paid work and engagements, our Algemene Voorwaarden apply.

Which law applies?

In short: Belgian law applies, and consumers keep the protection of their home country.

These terms are governed by Belgian law. If you are a consumer, this choice does not take away the protection you have under the mandatory consumer rules of the country where you live.

Which courts can hear a dispute?

In short: Belgian courts for business clients; EU rules protect consumers.

For business clients, any dispute that we cannot solve together will be handled by the courts of Belgium that have jurisdiction for Overtis. If you are a consumer, the EU rules apply: we can only bring a case in the country where you live, and you can bring a case either there or in Belgium.

Can a dispute be solved out of court?

In short: Consumers can turn to the Belgian Consumer Mediation Service.

If you are a consumer and we cannot solve a problem directly, you can turn to the Belgian Consumer Mediation Service (Consumentenombudsdienst / Service de Médiation pour le Consommateur) at consumentenombudsdienst.be (opens in new tab). We do not use the former EU online dispute platform, which closed in July 2025.

Which language version counts?

In short: Dutch is the reference version; English is a faithful translation. Consumers keep their own language.

The Dutch version of these terms is the reference version. The English version is a faithful courtesy translation, and both are valid. If you are a consumer, the language of the country where you live, or the language in which we made the deal, prevails.

What if part of these terms is invalid?

In short: The rest stays in force, and we replace the invalid part with a valid one that is as close as possible.

If any part of these terms turns out to be invalid or unenforceable, the rest stays in force. We will replace the invalid part with a valid one that stays as close as possible to the original intention.

Can these terms change?

In short: We may update them; the version in force is the one published here with its date.

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force is always the one published here, shown with its "Last updated" date below. We do not apply changes backwards in time.
